CrowdTimer Zoom App Documentation

A Zoom-specific guide for adding, using, and removing CrowdTimer.

Add CrowdTimer to Zoom

  1. Open the CrowdTimer listing in the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Select Add or Visit site, then authorize the requested Zoom App access.
  3. Start or join a Zoom meeting where you want to use breakout timing.
  4. Open Apps in the Zoom meeting toolbar and choose CrowdTimer.

Start a shared breakout timer

  1. The host opens CrowdTimer inside the Zoom meeting.
  2. The host opens breakout rooms and confirms room coverage.
  3. The host starts the shared timer.
  4. Participants who have CrowdTimer open see the same live countdown.

Request more time

Participants can request +1 minute when their room needs a little more time. CrowdTimer shows how many extensions remain so the facilitator keeps the session structured.

Mark a room done

A participant can mark their breakout room done. The facilitator sees live room progress and can decide whether to wrap up, continue, or invite missing rooms to open CrowdTimer.

Phone browser participants

If someone cannot open the Zoom App, the host can share a join QR or join code. Phone browser participants enter their name, choose their breakout room, and follow the same shared timer.

Remove CrowdTimer

  1. Open your Zoom App Marketplace account.
  2. Go to Manage, then Added Apps.
  3. Find CrowdTimer and choose Remove.
  4. Removing the app revokes future access. Meeting-scoped operational records continue to follow the retention policy in the Privacy Policy unless you request earlier deletion through support.
